: About DumpsterScore Home Recordings :

DumpsterScore Started in 2003 out of the ashes of 309 Thrash Militia Tapes. 309TMT released about 25 tapes raging from grindcore/noisecore to skate thrash to harsh noise between 1999-2002. During 2002-2003 I traveled a lot all over the country and when I returned home I felt like I really wanted focus on experimental and harsh noise only. Normal music had become completely stale to me, and most of the people involved in making it were not the kind of people I wanted to be around. So with a few crates of dumpster dived tapes from a local church (hence the name, which should be two words since people always say core instead of score), DumpsterScore was born. I took the trash around me and made it into art. Tapes are practically free if you know where to look. With a little thought and smooth talking you can put out 50 tapes for less than $10. Now I'm able to put some money into the label, but if I had tried to make everything look professional and impressive in the begining, it would have never survived this long. I've been homless several times during the labels span, but I've always tried my hardest to keep it up and just now am able to bring it to the scale I've always wanted it to be at. Over 1,200 people have one of the albums I've released in their homes right now. For a project that started with such meager means I'm very proud of what I've accomplished in the past 5 years! I hope to do it for the rest of my life in some form, and I thank you all for your amazing support and musical contributions to the label. It means a lot to me! I started the label out of pure passion for the music I put out and I hope that shows in every release. Noise should not be a trend or a music scene. Do it because you have to, not some hobby or fad. Keep it fucking real and keep it fucking HARSH!
